Commitment to the Industry

1. We urge organisations from public and private sectors to appraise their business, develop retention and disposal authorities and sentence their records to provide access, efficiency, accountability and compliance.
2. We support and encourage the use of Commonwealth, State, private and compliant commercial archive repositories for the appropriate storage and preservation of evidence.
3. We encourage the managed and authorised disposal of records that have no continuing value.
4. We support the use of non-paper-based records by encouraging our clients to:
   1. use inert archival materials including polypropylene archive boxes and folders
   2. transition from paper-based records to electronic records of business
5. We support and engage the principles and guidelines of ISO 15489, and nested compliance instruments of the Commonwealth, States and Territories of Australia.
6. We actively support and promote to our staff and our clients, the Records Management Association of Australasia (RMAA) and Australian Society of Archivists (ASA) as the peak bodies in Australia for our industry.
